Ben Tessler:
|
Ben's lifelong passion for
photography started when he was a schoolboy and has seen him travel all over the
world as a news cameraman, capturing on film some of the most important events
of the past two decades.
Now happily settled in
Perth with his family, Ben is more likely to be seen at Trigg Point with his
tripod at sunset than jetting off to remote war zones. In turning his well
trained eye to capturing the West Australian coastline, Ben has produced a
series of awe inspiring panoramic shots which tell the story of Western
Australia's unique beauty and lifestyle.
Ben's special affinity
with W.A goes deeper than his appreciation of it's clean living and beautiful
beaches.
It was here, as a teenager that a teacher noticed his
special skill capturing images and encouraged him towards a career in the media.
Ben went on to study
Production & Design at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA)
and started his career as
a trainee camera operator at Channel Nine Perth.
In the mid 1990's Ben returned to London to broaden his
experience, where he spent nearly 10 years working for the major news networks
and as a freelance camera operator. Throughout his life and travels, his still
camera has gone everywhere with him and remains one of his greatest loves.
Ben's images are taken on transparency film on a
medium format camera.
